2^nd ANNUAL “SUMMER BLAST”- BANDS AGAINST SEXUAL VIOLENCE

What: Benefit Concert- Bands against sexual violence.

Where: Peddler’s bar on George street, St. John’s, Nf.

When: Thursday, August 19^th, 2004. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $5.00.

Who are we? The Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre has been providing non-judgmental peer support and essential services to anyone impacted by sexual violence, for over 26 years. In spite of many challenges, the Centre has persevered. With the help of volunteers and community support, the Centre continues to seek much needed funding in order to continue to provide these essential services.

On Thursday August 19^th, the Centre is holding its 2^nd annual benefit concert at Peddlers on George Street. The money raised from this benefit contributes much- needed funds for the Centre, and offsets the cost of events held during Sexual Violence Awareness week in September of 2004. The concert involves a great line-up of talented musicians, including Jill Porter, Kathy Phippard, Kelly-Ann Evans, Kilkenny Krew, Dr. Zoo and Trimmed Naval Beef. There will also be a 50/50 draw and door prizes. Doors open at 7:30. Tickets ($5.00) can be purchased in advance at the Sexual Assault Crisis Centre or at the door at Peddlers. All are welcome to help us raise awareness and share in a great night of entertainment!
