NLSACPC is currently offering the following educational presentations:

NLSACPC Services and Overview of Sexual Violence

This presentation provides an overview of the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre and covers topics such as what constitutes sexual violence and the laws surrounding it, the services we provide to those affected by sexual violence, dispelling myths.

Healthy Vs.  Unhealthy Relationships

This presentation examines the differences between healthy relationships and unhealthy relationships, highlights abusive behaviours and warning signs, and what to do if you or someone you know is involved in an unhealthy or abusive relationship. Accompanying activities vary depending on audience age.

Body Image & Self Esteem

This presentation uses visuals and interactive self-assessment exercises to explore body image & self esteem and how society, particularly the media, portrays beauty. This presentation is designed to address issues of interest to both male and female audiences.

Sexual Assault & The Meaning of Consent

This presentation is designed for a younger audience. It is an interactive presentation that provides an understanding of what sexual assault is, & the different types of sexual assault that can occur. It also focuses on age of consent, how consent is defined by the Criminal Code of Canada, and the implications for young people.

Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault

This presentation discusses the various types of drugs that can be used in a drug facilitated sexual assault, how to protect yourself from drugging and what to do if you suspect you have been drugged.

Sexual Harassment

This presentation explores the definition of Sexual Harassment, the different types, the differences between sexual harassment and flirting, and legal implications of sexual harassment.  This presentation also includes a discussion on what to do if you or someone you know is being sexually harassed.
